Weather conditions have also turned adverse in the northeastern states; the situation in Assam has worsened due to the rains, with flood conditions remaining critical.
Western Uttar Pradesh has witnessed cloudy skies and rainfall, causing temperatures to dip. Various regions in South India are also experiencing a spell of rain, causing difficulties for residents. Heavy Rainfall Warnings for These States
The IMD has issued warnings for heavy rainfall in several states. For Wednesday, the department has predicted heavy rain in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Additionally, heavy rainfall is expected in Maharashtra, West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Assam, Kerala, and Karnataka.
The IMD has forecast heavy downpours accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in several areas. Residents are advised to remain cautious during adverse weather and to follow the administration’s guidelines.
Rainfall Forecast for Delhi-NCR
The Meteorological Department has noted rainfall in several parts of Delhi-NCR over the past 24 hours. This has led to a drop in temperature, offering residents relief from the heat. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in the capital and surrounding areas today as well.
Heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning strikes are anticipated in several locations. The department expects intermittent rainfall to continue in Delhi over the coming days.
Heavy Rainfall Warnings for UP and Bihar
According to the IMD, heavy rainfall is likely at several locations across both eastern and western Uttar Pradesh. The department has also predicted very heavy rainfall in certain districts. Rainfall is expected to continue over the next 24 to 48 hours.

According to the Meteorological Department, warnings for moderate to heavy rainfall have been issued for the Jharkhand districts of Sahibganj, Dumka, Deoghar, Giridih, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Koderma, Ramgarh, and Hazaribagh. Heavy rainfall is also predicted for the western and eastern regions of Madhya Pradesh. The IMD has advised people to stay away from rivers, streams, and waterlogged areas.

The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall warning for Konkan-Goa and Madhya Maharashtra. The IMD anticipates the formation of a new cyclonic circulation system over Rajasthan between August 6 and 7, with rainfall activity expected to intensify in the state. Heavy rainfall is likely in several parts of the Bharatpur, Kota, Jaipur, and Ajmer divisions between August 7 and 10.
