New Delhi: Ahead of the 2027 UP Assembly elections, all political parties are launching major attacks on one another. Leaders and workers across the political spectrum have begun working at the grassroots level. Furthermore, the war of words between political leaders appears to be intensifying. In this context, BSP supremo and former UP Chief Minister Mayawati has launched a scathing attack on Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. Mayawati stated that Akhilesh Yadav needs to reveal the true reality of his ‘PDA’ (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) strategy to the public. She has targeted his PDA strategy in the past as well.
What did the BSP supremo say?
Former UP CM Mayawati appears highly active regarding the upcoming assembly elections. She has raised several questions concerning the SP and its chief, Akhilesh Yadav. She remarked that Muslims have completely lost faith in the SP and are now aware of the bitter reality. Mayawati targeted Akhilesh Yadav across five key points.
She stated that the ‘PDA Rath’ (chariot) promoted by the Samajwadi Party (SP) chief for the upcoming UP assembly elections reflects the RSS/BJP’s ‘saffron’ colour (saffronization) more than the SP’s own signature red colour. Consequently, people are debating whether this is merely a case of constantly changing colours like a chameleon for the sake of electoral gain, or if the SP chief has lost confidence in securing the Muslim vote.
Mayawati further added that the Muslim community in UP is fully aware of the bitter reality: despite overwhelmingly voting for the SP in previous elections, the party failed to prevent the BJP from forming governments at both the state and central levels. Therefore, they question why they should continue to waste their votes on the SP. In this regard, they are rapidly shifting their stance in favour of the BSP, much like the upper-caste Brahmin community.
The BSP has repeatedly demonstrated, particularly regarding crime control and the maintenance of law and order,r that it can establish an exemplary “Iron Lady” style of governance characterised by the rule of law, broad public interest, social welfare, and development; the state is in dire need of such governance for the benefit and well-being of all sections of society.
Akhilesh Must Reveal the True Reality of ‘PDA’
The Samajwadi Party ought to clarify the true reality of its ‘PDA’ concept. Driven by electoral expediency, they have variously defined ‘PD’ as ‘Pichhda’ (Backwards) and ‘Dalit’, or as ‘Pandit’ (Brahmin); furthermore, in an attempt to project themselves as ‘Ambedkarites’, they even posed for photographs wearing the BSP’s signature ‘blue’ attire—a move the public immediately rejected, dismissing them as ‘fake Ambedkarites’.
