The election campaign for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections has begun. While all parties have already entered the fray and are fully prepared, the Congress party has suffered a major setback. Ahead of the Assembly elections in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, the city Congress office has been locked. On Saturday (August 22nd), the administration took major action against the Congress committee offices, locking them. The locking took place on Saturday morning, with the SDM, EO, the police station in-charge, and several outpost in-charges present. Let’s find out more about the entire incident.

The entire matter

The administration has taken major action against the Congress party. The city Congress Committee office, built on Nazul land, has been taken over by the administration and locked. The SDM, EO, the police station in-charge, and several outpost in-charges were present during this action. This action took place in the presence of all involved. Prior to this, a notice was also issued to the Congress party by the Municipal Corporation.

Notice Issued

Before the action was taken against the Congress office, a notice was also issued by the Municipal Corporation. This notice was issued on July 4, 2026. Upon receiving this notice, it was learned that the Congress Committee filed a petition in the High Court for a stay. However, the petition was rejected, and the Municipal Corporation subsequently granted Congress a 15-day extension. This action was taken only after the deadline was over. Police from five police stations were present. As soon as this action was taken, the Congress party was furious and expressed their displeasure over this action. The anger among Congress members regarding this issue continues.

Which officers were present?

Police from five police stations were present when this action was taken, including: SDM Sadar Dr. Janardan, Executive Officer Vikas Kumar, Tehsildar Ajit Jaiswal, and City Police Inspector Dinesh Prakash Pandey.

Just before the elections, an action by the administration has heated up the political atmosphere in the city. The administration sealed the city office of the Congress party. According to officials, this action was taken due to alleged illegal occupation of the office.

The administration maintains that the office was sealed in accordance with regulations and legal procedures. Meanwhile, the Congress party is raising questions about this action. The party states that such action is politically significant before the elections and that the entire matter should be investigated impartially.

The sealing of the office may also impact local political activities. Political parties and supporters are closely monitoring any administrative action during the election season.

At present, the most important thing in this matter is to clarify the allegations of illegal occupation made by the administration and the legal process of the action. Furthermore, the parties involved should be given a full opportunity to present their views.

Everyone will be watching the direction this matter takes in the coming days and whether any legal or political action is taken by the Congress party.
