Heart-wrenching news has emerged from Devbhoomi Uttarakhand that will leave you shaken to the core. On Friday night, four motorcycles collided on the Roorkee-Kaliyar Kanwar route, resulting in the immediate death of three young men.
Chaos ensued following the incident, with people rushing toward the scene. A large crowd gathered quickly, causing a traffic jam. Six youths were injured, and the condition of some is reported to be critical; the death toll could still rise. The families of the deceased are inconsolable, and the scene of the accident left onlookers horrified and rightly so, as three lives were lost to death in a matter of seconds.
Mourning Follows the Tragic Accident
The tragic accident occurred on Friday night on the Kanwar track between Roorkee and Bajuheri. According to eyewitnesses, two motorcycles were approaching each other from opposite directions when they suddenly collided. The impact was so severe that the riders were thrown onto the road. Subsequently, two other motorcycles approaching from behind crashed into the wreckage and the people lying on the road.
In just a few seconds, a collision between two bikes escalated into a four-bike accident. All four motorcycles were damaged and lay scattered on the road, with several youths lying injured. Bystanders alerted the local police and ambulance services.
Passersby also stepped in to assist the injured. Upon receiving the information, Kamal Mohan Bhandari, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Kaliyar, along with a police team from the Roorkee Civil Lines station, rushed to the scene.
Injured Rushed to Hospital via Ambulance
Following the tragic incident, local police, with the help of residents, loaded the injured into ambulances to transport them to the hospital. The victims have been admitted to the Civil Hospital in Roorkee. Nine people injured in the accident were taken to the hospital, where a team of doctors declared three of them dead. Treatment is ongoing for the remaining six injured individuals, several of whom remain in critical condition.
Upon receiving news of the three fatalities, the police sent the bodies for post-mortem examinations. Efforts are underway to identify the deceased, and their families are being informed of the incident via telephone. The police have also initiated an investigation at the scene and are questioning bystanders to piece together the details of the accident.
