Monsoon Alert

New Delhi: From Jammu & Kashmir to Kanyakumari, the monsoon rains are currently displaying their fierce intensity. Many regions are witnessing heavy downpours accompanied by lightning and thunder. Rainfall in the mountainous areas of North Indian states has caused river water levels to rise. Significant water inflow into the Ganga, Yamuna, and Ravi rivers has created flood-like conditions in various places. In the northeastern states, rain continues to disrupt the pace of daily life.

Various parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have been experiencing intermittent rain since morning, bringing relief from the heat as temperatures have dropped. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rainfall warnings for several states across the country.

Heavy Rain Warnings for Several States

According to the IMD, alerts for heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning have been issued for Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Chandigarh, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh. Additionally, alerts for heavy rainfall have been issued for Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Karnataka.

The Meteorological Department predicts spells of heavy rain accompanied by lightning in Madhya Maharashtra, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya. Heavy rainfall warnings have also been issued for Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir; this could lead to waterlogging in several areas.

Rain Accompanied by Strong Winds in Delhi

The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert for various parts of the region. Strong winds have been blowing since morning, providing relief from the humid heat. Delhi’s temperature was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius. The IMD indicated that the rainy spell is expected to continue tomorrow. Light to moderate rainfall is likely to persist in Delhi on August 8 as well.

Heavy Downpour Expected in Uttar Pradesh

According to the Meteorological Department, rainfall warnings have been issued for both the eastern and western regions of Uttar Pradesh. The IMD has forecast rain in several districts, including Lucknow, Kanpur, Unnao, Raebareli, Barabanki, and Ayodhya. Additionally, a warning for rainfall in various areas on the 7th has been issued.

Weather outlook for Bihar

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is expected across various districts. Waterlogging is likely to occur in low-lying areas, and residents are urged to exercise caution. The possibility of heavy rain persists until August 8.

Heavy rain likely in Haryana over the next 24 hours

According to the India Meteorological Department, rain is expected in Haryana, which borders Delhi. Warnings for light to moderate rainfall have been issued for certain areas. This spell of rain is expected to continue until August 8. During this period, winds are likely to blow at speeds ranging from 40 to 60 kmph.
