The mother of the 15-year-old girl who used offensive words against Modi has expressed her gratitude for the forgiveness. She stated that the Prime Minister has given her daughter a new lease on life, describing the forgiveness as the greatest birthday gift possible. She expressed her heartfelt thanks with folded hands to Narendra Modi for choosing the path of forgiveness over revenge.
PM Modi Showed Magnanimity: Mother
The mother of the girl who made the derogatory remarks said that PM Modi demonstrated his greatness by forgiving the child. She noted that it was the girl’s birthday and that PM Modi had given her the ultimate gift: a new life; it was as if she had been born again. Notably, on Friday night, PM Modi had shared a video on Instagram appealing to people to exercise restraint.
The entire matter stems from a student protest led by the CJP at Jantar Mantar against the NEET-UG paper leak, during which offensive language was allegedly used against the Prime Minister. Following the incident, Modi described those using such language as misguided. Subsequently, a video of the girl apologising went viral; in the video, the 15-year-old acknowledged the gravity of her mistake.
Girl Calls It Her First and Last Mistake
The girl apologised via a video, admitting that her actions were inexcusable. She had made several inappropriate remarks against the Prime Minister. She explained that she had arrived at the protest site after visiting Connaught Place with friends and was influenced by the offensive slogans against PM Modi raised by the crowd there. Describing the incident as her “first and last mistake,” she apologised to the nation.
FIR Registered Against the Girl
For context, the Noida Police had registered an FIR against the girl for raising objectionable slogans during a protest on July 23. The Noida Police initially registered a ‘Zero FIR,’ which was later transferred to the Parliament Street Police Station in New Delhi. In the FIR, the complainant alleged that the girl’s remarks insulted the dignity of the office of the Prime Minister and posed a risk of disrupting social harmony and public peace.
Meanwhile, the girl’s mother claims that both she and her daughter have repeatedly apologised and requested the withdrawal of the FIR. She also pointed out that the girl’s age was recorded as 25 years, whereas she is a minor.
