First major consignment of Captagon drugs worth ₹182 crore seized, government calls it a major success

After the seizure of a huge consignment of Captagon drugs for the first time in the country, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has called it a major success in the fight against drugs. According to officials, the estimated value of the seized consignment is estimated to be around ₹182 crore. The Home Minister said that the Central Government is continuously taking action in line with its resolve to make a “Drug Free India” and strict action will be taken against those involved in the drug trade.

Sharing information about this action, the Home Minister said that security agencies are constantly vigilant to stop drug trafficking in India. He stated that the government is not only focusing on stopping the supply of drugs but is also working towards dismantling the entire network.

According to experts, Captagon drug is considered a dangerous synthetic drug, which has been used illegally in many countries. Concerns have also been raised at the international level regarding this because it is linked to the network of drug and illegal smuggling.

Officials say the seizure of such a large quantity of drugs shows that security agencies are constantly monitoring the smuggling network. Investigating agencies are now trying to find out the source of this consignment and for what purpose it was being brought into the country.

What is Captagon drug and why is it considered dangerous?

Captagon is considered a type of synthetic drug, the misuse of which has been reported in many countries. According to experts, it can affect the mind and body and its long-term consumption can cause serious health problems.

Health experts say that drugs can harm a person’s mental and physical health. The rise of drug addiction among youth is considered a concern for both families and society. For this reason, in many countries, emphasis is laid on stopping drug trafficking and increasing awareness.

In India too, action against drugs has intensified in the last few years. Various agencies are increasing surveillance at sea routes, airports and border areas to prevent illegal smuggling.

Experts believe that drug trafficking is often linked to international networks. Therefore, local action alone is not sufficient; cooperation and intelligence sharing between different countries are also considered essential.

Government Emphasises “Drug-Free India,” Investigative Agencies Active

Amit Shah stated that the government’s goal is to make India drug-free, and efforts are being made at various levels to achieve this. He praised the security agencies, stating that continuous action is being taken against drug trafficking.

The government states that merely enforcing the law against drugs is not enough; spreading awareness is also essential. Educating youth about the harms of drug abuse and raising social awareness are also considered part of the campaign.

Investigative agencies are now working to identify those involved in this case and unravel the entire network. Officials believe that an organized trafficking network may be behind such a large seizure.
Experts say that the fight against drugs is long and challenging, but through constant monitoring, strict action, and awareness, this problem can be largely controlled.

Currently, the seizure of Captagon drugs worth ₹182 crore is being considered a major achievement, and further investigations are likely to reveal further details related to this case in the coming days.
