New Delhi: Following the incident involving the theft of offerings at the Ram Mandir, a major decision has been taken: the appointment of the temple’s first CEO. Retired Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra has been appointed as the first CEO of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. This decision was reached during a meeting of the Ram Mandir Trust on Wednesday. The CEO search committee had submitted three names to the Trust, along with a supplementary list of three additional names.
After considering all these candidates, the Trust unanimously announced the appointment of Retired Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra. The Congress party has questioned this appointment, stating that a military officer has been entangled in work that belongs to sadhus and saints. Political debate is intensifying over the questions raised by the Congress.
Meanwhile, Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra, the first CEO of the Ram Mandir, stated that this has happened by the grace of Lord Ram. He noted that while he previously served the nation in the armed forces, he will now serve Ram Lalla.
Congress Questions Appointment of Former Military Officer
Political activity heated up following the announcement of Retired Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra as the first CEO of the Shri Ram Mandir Trust. Congress leader and MP from Saharanpur, Imran Masood, questioned the appointment, stating that the RSS and BJP have dragged a military officer into a role that traditionally belongs to sadhus and saints.
Imran Masood remarked, “This is the domain of sadhus and saints. Now, an Air Marshal—someone who flies aeroplanes—has been caught in the RSS’s web. Will he, too, eventually be humiliated and ousted? What kind of spectacle is this? The work related to the temple should be left to those associated with the temple itself.
He added that now that the RSS sees money in the Ram Mandir project, they are eyeing it greedily. Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai also criticised the new appointments, labelling all long-standing members of the Ram Mandir Trust as thieves. He challenged the new CEO to demonstrate courage by taking action against those who stole the temple offerings.
Who is Jitendra Mishra?
For context, the first CEO of the Ram Mandir Trust, retired Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra, hails from Deoria. He skillfully commanded operations as the Chief of the Western Command during ‘Operation Sindhu’; notably, when Prime Minister Modi visited the Adampur base, it was Jitendra Mishra who briefed him on the intricacies of the operation. He has described his appointment as a blessing from Lord Shri Ram. He stated that, in his role as CEO, he has worked to manage the affairs in a highly positive manner.
