New Delhi: The monsoon season is currently at its peak. A drop in temperature is being observed across various parts of the country due to storms and rainfall, providing people with relief from the scorching heat. However, the rain has become a source of trouble in regions ranging from the plains to the mountains. There is no immediate expectation of relief from the monsoon rains, and weather conditions are likely to deteriorate further in many areas soon.
Rainfall is occurring across Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh, leading to a drop in temperatures. Continuous rain has triggered landslides in hilly areas, causing disruptions to several routes. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rainfall warnings for 15 states. Details regarding the weather forecast for these regions are provided below.

Heavy Rainfall Warning for 15 States
The IMD has issued an alert for torrential rain across 15 states. According to the department, warnings for heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning have been issued for UP, Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand.
Additionally, heavy rain alerts have been issued for Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand. Alerts for stormy rainfall have also been issued for several districts in West Bengal and Odisha. Strong winds are expected to add to the concerns of residents during this period.
Weather Forecast for Delhi
The IMD has issued an alert for moderate to heavy rainfall on August 8. Wind speeds are expected to range between 20 and 30 km/h. The maximum temperature in the capital, Delhi, is likely to reach 33°C on August 8, while the minimum temperature is expected to be around 28°C.
Rainfall Alert Across UP
The Meteorological Department has issued warnings for heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Agra, Mathura, Kanpur, Mirzapur, and Bijnor. In addition to these areas, heavy rainfall is predicted for Muzaffarnagar, Bulandshahr, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, and Gorakhpur. Heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is expected in Azamgarh, Deoria, Sonbhadra, Chandauli, Mau, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Ayodhya; a warning has been issued for strong winds reaching speeds of 70 to 75 km/h in these regions.

Heavy Rain Expected in Bihar Too
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain in Jehanabad, Saran, Siwan, Buxar, Gaya, Patna, and Begusarai. Rainfall is also predicted for Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Purnia, Kishanganj, and Araria. The IMD has issued a ‘Yellow Alert’ for heavy rain and storms in Saharsa, Supaul, Khagaria, Bhagalpur, and Lakhisarai, warning of strong winds blowing at speeds of 65 to 70 km/h.
