The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted generally cloudy sky in Delhi on Sunday. According to the department, there may be one or two rounds of light rain in many parts of the city.
It also rained in Delhi from Saturday night to Sunday morning. According to the IMD, around 5 mm of rain was recorded in the capital from 8:30 pm to 8:30 am on Sunday.
The maximum temperature could reach 31°C on Sunday.
Delhi’s maximum temperature is expected to be around 31°C on Sunday amid rain and clouds. Due to clouds remaining throughout the day, there is no possibility of much increase in temperature.
The Meteorological Department has also predicted the possibility of thunderstorms and strong winds along with light rain. For this, a yellow alert has been issued in the capital.

Has winter arrived prematurely in Delhi?

According to IMD, Delhi usually experiences early winter around the end of October. At present, the drop in temperature in September is related to rain and weather conditions.
Therefore, instead of considering the cold weather of the next few days as the beginning of winter, it is being seen as a temporary change in the weather.

Temperatures may remain below normal for the next few days
According to the Meteorological Department’s forecast, Delhi’s temperatures may remain mostly below normal for the coming week. The minimum temperature on Monday is expected to be around 22°C and the maximum around 30°C.
There may be a slight increase in temperature on Tuesday and the minimum is likely to be 23°C and the maximum 32°C. After this, the maximum temperature can reach around 34°C from Wednesday.
This indicates that the current cold will not remain the same for long. Temperatures may rise again during the week.
Delhi’s air quality remained satisfactory amid the rain.
Delhi’s air quality has also seen some relief due to the rain. The capital’s AQI was recorded at 54 at 9 am on Sunday, which falls in the ‘satisfactory’ category.
According to CPCB classification, AQI between 51 and 100 is considered ‘satisfactory’. Rainfall and changes in wind conditions can help disperse pollutant particles.
However, air quality can also change with changing seasons. Therefore, AQI will also be monitored in the coming days.
