Trump said I will always be Modi’s friend.
About twelve hours after making his remark against India on Friday, US President Donald Trump found himself in a vulnerable position. “I will always be friends with Modi,” he responded to a question during an evening press conference at the White House. I’m always willing to mend fences with India.
He had posted on the social media site Truth earlier on Friday morning, saying, “It appears that China has taken India and Russia away from us. I hope they have a bright future.
At the same time, Trump criticized the European Union’s (EU) $3.5 billion punishment against Google while praising the continuing trade negotiations with India and other nations.

The friendship between Trump and Modi is over, according to a former US NSA.
Prior to Trump’s statement, former US National Security Advisor John Bolton declared on September 4 that Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unique connection was now over.
Bolton attacked Trump’s actions in an interview with the British media source LBC, claiming that “The White House has pushed US-India relations back by decades, pushing Modi closer to Russia and China.” China has positioned itself as a rival to Trump and the United States.
Bolton referred to this as a serious error. He went on to say, “The situation has gotten so severe that it cannot be solved right now.
Trump claimed that tariffs on India will put an end to the fighting in Ukraine.
The US and India’s relationship has been worse after the US imposed a 50% tax on India. The issue involving the high tariffs placed on India and other nations is currently being heard by a US court.

Trump said in court on September 4 that tariffs on India were required. He claimed that the US will suffer severe economic losses in the absence of such action.
Trump has previously contested a decision from a lower court that said he was not allowed to put high tariffs on goods from other countries.
Trump claimed that in order to halt the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, taxes on India were necessary. In order to help put an end to the disagreement, he contended before the Supreme Court that the tariffs were put in place to stop India from purchasing Russian oil.
He cautioned that the ruling of the lower court would put his five-month-long trade negotiations with the European Union, Japan, and South Korea in jeopardy.
Trump: India’s tariffs are harming the US
Trump claimed on Wednesday, September 3, that India’s tariffs were harming the US. He claimed in an interview with The Scott Jennings Radio Show that the US was being slammed by high tariffs from nations like Brazil, China, and India.
“I know more about tariffs than anyone else in the world,” Trump declared. India used to have the highest tariffs, but they are now offering me zero.
He added that India would never have made such an offer if the US had not placed tariffs on the country. Trump referred to tariffs as essential to the US economy, claiming that without them, such offers would not have been made, so bolstering the US economy.
To have tariffs lifted, India must comply with US requirements.
On Friday, US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick told Bloomberg TV that he had imposed three requirements on India in order to get the extra 25% duty lifted. According to him, India would have to support the US, break with BRICS, and cease purchasing oil from Russia.
“Go ahead,” he continued, “if you (India) choose to serve as a bridge between China and Russia. But either back the US or back the dollar. Encourage your largest client or pay the 50% tariff.
He did, however, add that he hoped India will soon enter into talks for a bilateral trade deal with the United States. America is always open to dialogue, he said.
