New Delhi: As the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections draw closer, the political rhetoric is intensifying. Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav has been launching sharp attacks on the BJP. At times, he targets CM Yogi over his ‘bulldozer policy,’ while at other times, he claims that the BJP’s ‘double-engine’ government is headed for a collision.
Now, former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav has taken a pointed dig without explicitly naming them at BJP state president Pankaj Chaudhary and CM Yogi Adityanath, alleging that there is tension between the two leaders. Akhilesh Yadav claimed that the conflict within the BJP in UP is not limited to a power struggle between Delhi and Lucknow; rather, a battle for supremacy is also unfolding within the party in Gorakhpur.

Yogi is blocking Pankaj Chaudhary’s ticket, claims Akhilesh Yadav
On the social media platform X, Akhilesh Yadav hinted that CM Yogi is preventing Pankaj Chaudhary from securing a party ticket. The SP chief added that if this is not the case, the BJP state president should be the first to announce his own candidacy. In his post, Akhilesh aimed at both Pankaj Chaudhary and Yogi Adityanath without mentioning them by name.
He remarked that those whose own tickets are being blocked by their own neighbours would do well to remain silent; t that way, they might at least preserve their dignity. His comments appear to be inspired by the words of a ‘deceitful’ person. By using the term ‘Ranchhod ‘, an epithet for Lord Krishna, in a negative, derogatory sense, he has demonstrated just how limited and narrow his understanding is, and how potentially harmful his views are to society.
The people of Gorakhpur see everything, says Yogi
Regarding the transition from the Lok Sabha to the Chief Minister’s office, the people of Gorakhpur are well aware of the underlying conflict Akhilesh Yadav is alluding to. The public in Gorakhpur sees everything; they are not wearing blinders. The internal power struggle within the BJP is no longer confined to the Delhi-Lucknow rift; it has now spilt out into the open in Gorakhpur, documented in writing. He remarked that the enlightened society of Uttar Pradesh has not forgotten those who issued these notices. The questions we raised in the past are being posed once again today, as they have remained unanswered all this time.

Caught in internal strife, they will end up longing for the ‘lotus’ symbol.
Akhilesh Yadav wrote that those whose very name is synonymous with the ‘lotus’ (kamal) will themselves end up longing for the ‘lotus’ symbol amidst their internal infighting. If that is not the case, then, in his capacity as the state president, he should announce his own name as the first candidate to receive a BJP ticket.
