Rainy weather often makes people want to go out and enjoy delicious food. Even if you are at home while it rains, the sight of the downpour makes everyone—kids and adults alike—crave something tasty and savory. In such weather, the desire for hot, spicy, and flavorful snacks is universal. So, in this article, we are sharing some easy and quick-to-make savory snacks that you can enjoy during the rains.

While everyone loves pairing their evening tea with pakodas (fritters) during the monsoon—since they are quick to make and delicious—if you have grown bored of them, let us introduce you to some other tasty rainy-day snacks.

Aloo Tikki Chaat

It is raining daily in almost every area these days. If you are craving something delicious and savory, try making Aloo Tikki Chaat instead of pakodas. To start, boil the potatoes. Once boiled, mash them well. Mix in some cornflour or breadcrumbs to ensure the tikkis turn out crispy. Add green chilies, salt, fresh coriander, and chaat masala to the mixture, then shape it into patties (tikkis). Heat a tawa (griddle), add a little ghee, and cook the tikkis until they turn light brown. Finally, serve them topped with sweet chutney, green chutney, and a sprinkle of chaat masala to enjoy the flavor.

Rava Toast

The next rainy-day snack is Rava Toast. It is a light snack that is quick to prepare. To make it, start with a cup of rava (semolina). Mix in some malai (fresh cream) or yogurt. You can then add finely chopped vegetables of your choice—such as carrots, onions, tomatoes, capsicum, green chilies, and fresh coriander—to the mixture. Next, add salt and blend the mixture into a thick paste. Spread this paste evenly over the bread slices, then place them on a hot griddle (tawa) to cook. Toast both sides until done and serve.

Maggi Pakoda

If you are bored of eating regular pakodas, try making Maggi pakodas during the rainy season. These pakodas are quick and easy to prepare. First, boil the Maggi noodles thoroughly. Then, mix the boiled noodles with Maggi masala, tomatoes, rice flour, gram flour (besan), onions, green chilies, salt, and fresh coriander leaves. Finally, shape the mixture into small balls and deep-fry them.

You should definitely try making and eating these quick and tasty snacks during this rainy season; they are very easy to prepare and can be enjoyed by both adults and children.
