New Delhi: The festival of Dussehra, which symbolises the victory of good over evil, is being celebrated with great fervour across the country today, Tuesday. By evening, the burning of the effigies of Ravana, the lord of Lanka, also known as Dashanan,n will commence. In major cities across the nation, effigies of Ravana have been set up in open grounds, ready to be burned to convey the message of the triumph of truth over falsehood.

Amidst the traditional burning of Ravana’s effigies, a surprising piece of news has emerged from Delhi. Here, alongside the effigy of Ravana, the effigies of Meghnada and Kumbhakarna are also burned every year. Read on for the details shared by Abhijit Deepke.

Abhijit Deepke’s notable statement

Abhijit Deepke, founder of the ‘Cockroach Janta Party,’ has made a significant statement regarding the burning of a cockroach effigy. He expressed his “thanks” for the act. In a post, Abhijit Deepke wrote, “Thanks for the free publicity.” This follows an announcement by Ashok Goyal Devaraha, the MLA from Model Town.

MLA Ashok Goyal Devaraha explained that it has been a long-standing tradition of the Keshav Ramlila Committee to burn a fourth effigy—in addition to the three primary ones, which represent a major social evil. He noted that in the past, the committee has burned effigies symbolising social ills such as terrorism and Naxalism.

This year, the committee has decided to burn an effigy of a cockroach, representing filth. He stated that this decision was made collectively, with the aim of conveying a positive message. He added, “Whether it is filth inside our homes, outside our homes, or within society at large, we must all come together to eliminate it.

BJP MLA to convey a positive message

The BJP MLA stated that this initiative would help convey a positive message. It will encourage greater public participation in efforts to eliminate filth. He also clarified that the cockroach was chosen solely as a symbol of filth. He further added, “We have selected the cockroach as a symbol of filth.

CJP Launches Offensive Against the Government

For context, the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP) has recently launched a sustained offensive against the central government, using the issue of ‘SIR’ (Systematic Information Retrieval/Request) and the conduct of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar as a pretext. The CJP is explicitly demanding the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar. In connection with this, CJP leaders have even been detained. Furthermore, Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das remain incarcerated in Tihar Jail.
