In April, the heat has become very strong, making it hard to go outside after 9–10 in the morning. Even air conditioners and coolers give only short relief. The hot sun feels like fire, and the body has to work harder to stay cool. To protect yourself from heatwaves, it is important to eat foods that help cool the body from the inside. In Ayurveda, many natural cooling foods are suggested. In the summer times, items like sattu, buttermilk, mint, and mishri help keep the body cool and healthy during extreme summer heat.

In this extreme summer heat, many people prefer cold soft drinks from the market to quench their thirst and get quick relief. However, these drinks can harm the body in several ways. Instead of them, it is better to choose natural drinks that cool the body from the inside. Healthy options include sattu, buttermilk, lassi, lemonade (shikanji), aam panna, and sugarcane juice. These drinks help maintain hydration and keep the body naturally cool. Avoid having very cold items suddenly in peak heat. Also, sugarcane juice should be consumed only in the morning or evening for better digestion and safety during hot weather.

Problems are increasing in the summer season

In these hot days, the risk of stomach problems, food poisoning, vomiting, and diarrhea increases. To stay safe, it is important to eat light and simple meals. Include foods that have high water content to keep the body hydrated. Eat more fresh fruits and salads, as they help in cooling the body naturally. Wear light-colored cotton clothes that allow air to pass and keep the body covered to avoid direct heat. Always carry a water bottle when going outside and drink water regularly. These simple habits can help reduce the chances of getting sick during extreme summer heat.

In extreme summer heat, simple Ayurvedic and home remedies can help protect the body from heatstroke (lū). Natural options like apple cider vinegar, Giloy juice, Bel sherbet, Chandanasava, and khus sherbet are useful in cooling the body and improving immunity. At home, you can also try coriander and mint juice, vegetable soup, roasted onion with cumin, and fresh lemon water. These drinks and foods help maintain hydration and balance body temperature. Regular use of such natural remedies supports digestion, prevents dehydration, and reduces the risk of heat-related illnesses during harsh summer days.
