The process of adding new voters to the voter list has begun in Uttar Pradesh. The Election Commission has also set up special camps for voters. Elections are scheduled in Uttar Pradesh in the coming days, and political controversy continues over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list. In the meantime, any missing names will be added. Special camps have been organized across the state for voters to register their names. A total of 5.59 lakh applications have been submitted in these camps. Of these, approximately 4.22 lakh applications were submitted on Saturday, October 24th, the second and final day of the campaign. A large number of people are filling out these forms. A special camp was also organized on October 17th.

5.59 lakh people applied in two days

This special camp is being run by the Election Commission. The purpose of this campaign is to add citizens whose names have been omitted from the voter list and new voters. This means that those who will be voting for the first time in the Uttar Pradesh elections can add their names to this list, especially the younger generation.

Special Camps Set Up at All Booths

These camps are being held in various districts across the state. Booth-Level Officers (BLOs) are present at each booth to help you gather all the information and fill out the form. At these camps, BLOs are providing people with Form-6 to register as new voters. They must fill out and submit the application.

Under the instructions of Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa, voter registration campaigns are being conducted across the state in various districts. To summarize, on October 24th, special camps were organized at approximately 1.77 lakh polling stations across the state, with lakhs of people participating. These camps ran from 10 am to 4 pm, and many people registered with the help of BLOs.

This special camp campaign focused on those who were unable to participate in the SIR for some reason or whose names were deleted without any reason. Furthermore, first-time voters were also added to the list. The clear objective of these special camps is to ensure that no voter is left out of the list. All preparations were made at the booth level.

By the way, in Uttar Pradesh, there is ongoing controversy regarding the SIR process and the inclusion and deletion of names in the voter list. Opposition parties are constantly attacking the Election Commission and the government over this issue. Political debate continues on this issue. Meanwhile, special camps are being organized for voter registration. It should be noted that a previous special camp was held in October, which resulted in the addition of 16.18 lakh new voters to the voter list.
