New Delhi: Political temperatures have soared following personal remarks allegedly made by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge against PM Modi. The BJP has launched a fierce attack on the Congress party and has announced nationwide protests today in response to Kharge’s objectionable comments about the Prime Minister.
A complaint has also been filed against Kharge in Patna in connection with this matter. Furthermore, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has strongly targeted the Congress, stating that the Congress President has completely disregarded all norms of decency.

Objectionable remarks regarding Modi’s father
During a party event, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge was delivering a speech in which he criticised PM Modi. At one point, an individual in the crowd interrupted, asserting that PM Modi was “not going anywhere.” Provoked by this, Kharge made a controversial statement, sparking a major row.
Krishna Kumar, a member of the Bihar BJP state working committee, has filed a complaint and demanded an investigation into the matter. The incident occurred at the Bapu Sabhagar in Patna, Bihar, during a Congress event held to mark the birth anniversary of Bihar’s first Chief Minister, Shri Krishna Singh.
Case filed against Kharge
Police registered a case against Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. In his complaint, Krishna Kumar stated that he learned of the alleged remarks through television news reports and felt deeply hurt. He emphasised that making derogatory comments about an individual’s family from a public platform is a sensitive issue, adding that maintaining dignity and mutual respect is essential in public life.

Amit Shah lashes out at the Congress.
Footage has emerged showing Congress workers assaulting the individual who had interrupted during the time Kharge made the alleged remarks about PM Modi. BJP leaders have reacted sharply to Kharge’s comments, with Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP leader Nitin Navin condemning them. Bihar’s Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary has demanded an apology from Kharge and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Congress comes to Kharge’s defence.
The Congress has defended Kharge regarding his controversial remarks about PM Modi’s father. The party claims that during a speech in Patna, a BJP worker had first insulted Kharge’s late father. In response to this, the senior leader referred to PM Modi’s ‘ideological father’—the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Furthermore, the Congress alleged that this is the second time in the last few months that Mallikarjun Kharge’s father has been insulted. The party stated that following a speech by Kharge at a rally in Uttarakhand in August, an act as offensive as a ‘purification ritual’ (shuddhikaran) was carried out.
