A new rule has been issued for e-rickshaw drivers in Delhi. A proposal has been issued to make E-rickshaw Compliance Certificate (ECC) mandatory for e-rickshaw drivers in Delhi, and all existing owners will have to apply for it within 90 days. To streamline e-rickshaw operations in Delhi, the government has announced a new policy, making it mandatory for rickshaw owners to possess an E-rickshaw Compliance Certificate (ECC). According to this proposal, even previously registered e-rickshaw owners must complete the prescribed process. Existing e-rickshaw owners have been given 90 days from the date of the notification, and they must apply for the certificate within that time. The proposed system calls for a two-year validity period for the certificate, and it will be issued only after the application is submitted.
Certificate Required for Existing E-rickshaw Owners
The proposed policy announced applies not only to new e-rickshaw owners but also to those purchasing old e-rickshaws and new e-rickshaws. This means that efforts are being made to bring everyone in Delhi under the ambit of this registered e-rickshaw policy. It is important to note that applications must be submitted within 90 days of the notification being issued.
The objective of this system is to ensure that the documents and necessary regulations related to e-rickshaw operation are fully complied with.
This ECC will remain valid for two years
It should be noted that the proposed E-rickshaw Compliance Certificate will be valid for two years, not just one. This means that after receiving the certificate, the e-rickshaw certificate will remain valid for two years. After the expiry of the period, renewal rules may apply again.
This is important for e-rickshaw owners
It will be important for e-rickshaw owners to be aware of the certificate’s validity, application date, and required documents, as this will enable them to obtain a certificate under this policy and follow the process.
Emphasis on Vehicle and Driver Documents
It is important to note that all e-rickshaw-related vehicle documents have been given a prominent place in the proposed policy. Under this scheme, the vehicle’s registration and other necessary documents will be verified before a certificate is issued. Vehicle owners must keep their documents correct and up-to-date. Only then will they be able to apply for a certificate. Additionally, the driver must meet the requirements for a valid driving license and PSV badge, and all documents must be kept.
Rules related to ownership will also be included
The new proposed system will also include ownership of e-rickshaws, and relevant regulations have been addressed. The name of the vehicle registered and the correctness of the associated documents will be checked. This will ensure your vehicle’s safety.
At present, an order has been issued to implement this proposal. If this proposal is implemented, previously registered e-rickshaw owners will be required to apply within 90 days of the notification. The ECC will be valid for two years, and it must be applied for as soon as possible.
