At the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting, the party discussed several key issues regarding its political strategy against the Modi government at the center. Senior party leaders, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, were present. Following the meeting, the Congress indicated that it is preparing to launch a more aggressive political campaign against the government in the coming days.

Discussion on Vande Mataram

Vande Mataram was the most discussed topic. The Congress has decided to stick to its previous stance. The party says that Vande Mataram has been a part of Congress programs since the independence movement, and the first two verses were given priority as per the historic decision taken in 1937. The Congress is preparing to counter the BJP’s nationalist narrative by building on this historic decision.

Youth Issue

Issues related to students and youth were also given prominence at the CWC. Congress is pursuing a strategy to make the examination system, paper leaks, education, and student problems a major political issue. Plans to expand the party’s student campaign to several cities across the country were discussed. Congress is striving to bring youth employment and education issues to the center of the electoral debate.

Ram Mandir Mudda

The issue of alleged irregularities in donations related to the Ayodhya Ram Temple was also raised at the meeting. Instead of limiting this issue to Parliament or major cities, Congress is strategizing to take it to the village and panchayat levels. The party is preparing to demand accountability from the government and related institutions.

Mahila Arakshan

The issue of women’s reservation was also part of Congress’s political strategy. The party will try to pressure the government on this issue and make it a part of a broader political debate. Furthermore, Congress also expressed its intention to pursue an apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the purification controversy in Uttarakhand.

At the meeting, Rahul Gandhi took an aggressive stance regarding the political situation of the Modi government. According to reports, he urged Congress leaders to raise their voices more forcefully against the government. Rahul Gandhi claimed that the Modi government is on the back foot and its political influence has weakened. However, his assessment of the government’s future is a political claim, which only time will confirm.

The biggest message from the CWC meeting is that instead of simply reacting to government decisions, Congress now wants to present its own political agenda to the public. Along with nationalism, it is preparing to advance issues such as education, employment, youth, women’s reservation, and economic issues.

It remains to be seen how much impact this strategy of Congress will have on the ground and whether the party can transform these issues into a strong political campaign among the public.
