Bijli Mafi Yojana 2025: At present, inflation is increasing continuously, it has a direct impact on the pockets of the people, in such a situation, poor and middle class families are most affected by it. People are often worried about electricity bills, removing their problems, the government has taken a big decision, now those electricity consumers who are not financially well off and belong to poor or middle class families, their old electricity bills will be waived and now they will also be given free electricity for 200 minutes every month.
Under this, it will be mandatory for the applicants to register by 31 July 2025. This decision of the government can be very relieving for those families who are unable to deposit electricity bill due to financial problem.
The scheme has been implemented in these states
Bijli Mafi Yojana 2025 has also been implemented in many other states including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh. In these states, those families who are not financially well off and belong to poor or middle class families and are unable to pay the electricity bill, the government will waive their old electricity bills and provide free electricity for 200 minutes. By taking advantage of this scheme, poor and economically weak electricity consumers will be free from their debt and will be able to use electricity for free for 200 minutes.

Eligibility Criteria
Under Bijli Mafi Yojana 2025, applicants must fulfill its eligibility criteria to avail the benefits. Let us know about them –
- In this scheme, those who have electricity bill dues till 30 September 2024 will be given the benefit of electricity bill waiver scheme.
- To avail the benefits of this scheme, the consumer’s electricity connection should be in his name.
- It is mandatory to get registered to avail the benefits of this scheme.
- In this scheme, only beneficiaries having connection up to 1 kilowatt will be eligible.
- Applicants from poor, middle class families, unorganized sector workers, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes will be eligible in this scheme.
- Those families who are below the poverty line will be given priority.
How to apply
- To apply in Bijli Mafi Yojana 2025, first of all go to the official website of the electricity distribution company of your state.
- After this, click on the link of electricity bill waiver scheme here.
- Now you have to enter your consumer number, name, address details everything.
- After this, upload all your necessary related documents which are mandatory for electricity bill waiver.
- Now OTP will come on your mobile number, verify it and submit your form.
- Now take out its printout and save it for future.
You can also apply for this scheme offline. To apply offline, you can go to your nearest electricity consumer public facility center and take its application form from there, enter the necessary information from it, attach the photocopy of all the necessary documents with it and go to the concerned department and submit it.
