If you plan to travel by train, the Railways has issued an alert. All trains on several routes will be suspended between September and October. If you have plans to travel abroad, cancel your plans, or you’ll face significant difficulties. Between September 21st and October 4th, 2026, you’ll face difficulties on the East Central Railway route, as all trains on this route will be suspended. Construction of a bridge over the Ganges River near Mokama, Bihar, is underway, resulting in the suspension of over 800 trains.

So, if you were planning to travel by train between September and October, cancel your plans. Construction of the bridge over the Ganges River near Mokama, Bihar, is scheduled to continue from September 21st to October 4th, 2026. Many train services will be cancelled due to this. Additionally, over 300 train routes will be altered. Additionally, some trains will be short-terminated and others will be short-originated.

According to the Railways, this change is being made due to the construction of a new bridge. This bridge will connect Hathidah Junction, Tal Junction, Rampur Dumra, Dinkar Gram Simaria, and Barauni Junction. According to the information, the bridge being constructed has a single line, and technically, converting it to a double line is not possible. This is why it is being connected to provide convenience to passengers.

Which routes will be altered?

While the Railways is working to provide future passenger convenience, passengers will face some inconvenience for a few days. Trains on some routes will be suspended. This includes all passenger trains, special trains, and express trains passing through Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, and surrounding states.
