Just giving up sugar is not enough; diabetes develops silently like this

Often when it comes to diabetes, people first consider sugar, sweets and sweet tea to be responsible. Many people are found saying proudly – “I drink weak tea, how can I get diabetes?” But doctors say the matter is not so simple.

Just reducing sugar in tea or staying away from sweets does not completely eliminate the risk of diabetes. The real problem often starts with our everyday habits that we don’t pay attention to.

In today’s fast-paced life, staying up late at night, sitting for hours, not eating on time and depending too much on packaged food has become common. Initially these habits seem normal, but gradually they start showing their effect inside the body.

Doctors say that diabetes does not occur suddenly. The body keeps giving signals for many years, but people often ignore them. Fatigue, excessive thirst, sudden weight gain or loss, frequent hunger – these can all sometimes be early signs.

India is already concerned about diabetes cases. Along with cities, its patients are now increasing rapidly in small towns and villages also. The surprising thing is that now the problem of blood sugar is being seen more in younger people also. Doctors believe that the main reason for this is lifestyle.

Diabetes

Habit No. 1: Sitting for Hours and an “I’ll Start Tomorrow” Exercise Plan

The biggest problem in today’s life is constant sitting. Be it office work, studies or scrolling on mobile for hours, body activity has reduced considerably compared to before. Many people walk hardly a few steps from morning till night.

Doctors say that when the body moves less, its ability to control blood sugar gradually gets affected. The body is unable to use insulin properly and this can increase the problem in the future.

Many people think, “I am still young, I will get fit later”, or “I will start going to the gym from Monday.” But this very habit of procrastinating can be detrimental. It is not necessary for everyone to go to the gym for hours, but a little walking every day, using the stairs, or even light physical activity can make a difference.

Many doctors recommend that if your job requires sitting, you should try to walk for at least 5-10 minutes every hour. Small habits make a big impact in the long run.

Habit No. 2: Unsweetened tea, but plenty of outside food and packaged snacks

Many people give up sweets, but do not take much care about other foods. Drinking weak tea in the morning, but eating biscuits, namkeen, chips, cold drinks, white bread, burgers or outside food throughout the day – this can also affect the body.

Actually, not all the harm is caused by sugar alone. There are many things that can quickly increase glucose in the body. Highly processed foods, refined flour and packaged snacks can gradually affect blood sugar levels.

Experts say that people often satisfy themselves by just reducing sugar in tea, but do not pay attention to the rest of the food. If the daily plate is low in fibre, fruits, vegetables and balanced food, the risk may increase.

Doctors also say that staying hungry for a long time and then suddenly eating too much also affects the body. Therefore, it is considered important to eat timely and balanced food.

Habit No. 3: Lack of sleep and ignoring stress

Many people don’t take it seriously, but lack of sleep and high stress can also increase the risk of diabetes. Using mobile till late night, work stress or constant worry affects the body’s hormones.
When sleep is not complete, the body’s energy system starts getting affected. This can lead to increased appetite, weight gain, and even affect blood sugar.

In stressful situations, the body releases certain hormones that can affect sugar levels. This is why doctors consider mental health as important as diet and exercise.

If you are sleeping only 5-6 hours every day, are stressed all the time and do not give rest to the body, then it can gradually cause harm.

After all, how to protect yourself?

Avoiding diabetes doesn’t just mean giving up sugar. It means improving your entire lifestyle.

•Walking for at least 30 minutes every day
•Reduce your intake of packaged foods
•Drink more water
•Eat meals on time
•Get enough sleep
•Try to reduce stress

Doctors also advise that if anyone in the family has diabetes, regular health checkups are essential. Sometimes, if the disease is detected in its early stages, it can be better controlled.

The most important thing is not to take body signals lightly. Just drinking weak tea does not provide complete protection. Many times our small carelessness becomes the cause of major illness. Therefore, taking a little care from now on can save you from big problems in the future.
