This scheme is a scheme of the Madhya Pradesh government, which was started on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti on 14 April 2025. Under this scheme, financial assistance is given for setting up a unit of 25 milch animals (cow or buffalo), so that milk production can be increased and unemployed youth and small farmers can get employment opportunities.

This Scheme provide subsidies to farmers, with SC and ST categories receiving up to 33%, and all other categories receiving up to 25%. Under this scheme, up to ₹42 lakh is provided for setting up a dairy unit, and the government also provides an additional ₹1 lakh for training and initial preparation.

Madhya Pradesh government has brought this scheme with the aim of providing employment to the rural youth of the state and making the state self-reliant in milk production, in which rearing of indigenous breed cows and improved buffaloes is encouraged, this promotes dairy farming in the state and also increases the income of the cattle rearers.

Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana Eligibility

Under this scheme, candidates must have the following qualifications: –

  • Only native residents of Madhya Pradesh can apply.
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years old to apply.
  • Applicants must have 3.5 acres of cultivable land.
  • People from all walks of life can apply.
  • Applicants must also have a dairy farming training certificate from a recognized institution.
  • Livestock owners can keep only one breed of animal per unit, either a buffalo or a cow.

To avail the benefits of this scheme, you can apply by visiting the official website of the Animal Husbandry Department www.mpdah.gov.in. To apply, candidates must have Aadhar card, Samagra ID, land documents, photo, bank details, project report, etc. Your application form will be scrutinized by the concerned officials and if you are found eligible, the amount received under this scheme will be transferred to your account.
