New Delhi: At the ‘Maha Rally’ (grand rally) of the INDIA bloc in the national capital, New Delhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi targeted the Election Commission and the central government. He stated that those who have stolen votes in a democracy will not be spared. He specifically remarked that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar will end up in jail; no one can save him. During his address, he also aimed PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah by name, asserting that they would not let PM Modi “go anywhere” (implying he would be held accountable).

He declared that for him, the voice of the nation stands above religion. We must protect the person standing at the very last row in India,” he said. “Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and the RSS have spread hatred across this country. The people of India are crying out that they do not want hatred; they want love. Soon, a ‘shop of love’ (a metaphor for spreading love and harmony) will open across the nation.

Modi, Shah, and Gyanesh are unable to sleep at night

Addressing the grand rally on Sunday, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, remarked that Gyanesh Kumar is likely unable to sleep at night. He added that, in truth, neither Narendra Modi nor Amit Shah are able to sleep either. Those who have spread hatred in the country will be held to account.

Rahul Gandhi further thanked the people for coming together, stating that they had successfully delivered a message to Gyanesh Kumar, PM Modi, and Amit Shah. “This is the voice of India’s farmers, youth, and labourers; we will not allow the Constitution to be destroyed.”

What did Farooq Abdullah say?

Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Farooq Abdullah, launched a sharp attack on the central government. He noted that these people constantly point fingers at Muslimslabellingng them as “Pakistanis.” “I tell the BJP and the RSS we will continue to live in this very land. We have shed our blood for this nation in the past, and we will continue to do so in the future.” Targeting the Centre, he added, “Do not be afraid of them; they will be gone.

We were defeated – Mamata Banerjee.

Former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stated, “We did not lose; we were defeated. We were defeated in Bengal. They looted the EVMs, they looted the votes, and they looted the Constitution.” She further added, “I want to make it clear: we will not give up; we will fight. We will save democracy. Bengal is a victim. Gyanesh Kumar even hijacked the vote-counting process.

We will protect our democracy.

From the stage, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav took a dig at Home Minister Amit Shah’s earlier remark, in which he had compared the BJP’s position in UP to ‘Angad’s foot’ (implying an immovable, unshakable presence). Akhilesh quipped, “Someone was claiming that UP is like ‘Angad’s foot.’ But if there is no ground left to stand on, where will you place your foot? Change is inevitable.” He added, “Ramlila Maidan has become the ‘Haldighati’ (a historic battlefield) of democracy. In 2027, they will be sent off in such a way that they will never be able to return.
