New Delhi: In the national capital, the political parties of the ‘INDIA’ alliance are set to hold a major rally, focusing on issues such as the ‘Special Intensive Revision’ (SIR) of electoral rolls and concerns regarding the Election Commission. Preparations for the event are complete. The Congress party has called upon its workers and supporters from across the country to gather at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan. The Congress and other opposition parties claim that approximately 1 million (10 lakh) people will attend the rally. This event has also intensified the war of words between the ‘INDIA’ alliance and the NDA.
The BJP has dismissed the event as an attempt to ‘re-launch’ Rahul Gandhi. The Delhi unit of the BJP has targeted the rally, labelling it a “gathering of swindlers” (thagon ka mela). The ‘INDIA’ alliance is holding this mega-rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on Sunday. Through this event, organised to protest against the ‘Special Intensive Revision’ (SIR) of electoral rolls and allegations of ‘vote theft ‘, the opposition parties aim to demonstrate their collective strength.

What did Sanjay Raut say?
Sanjay Raut, a leader from the Uddhav Thackeray faction of the Shiv Sena and a Rajya Sabha MP, launched an attack on the BJP government ahead of the mega-rally. He stated that the more they try to stop people, the larger the crowd will grow. “Hundreds of thousands of people are arriving in Delhi. There are significant efforts to block them, but the more they try to stop people, the greater the turnout will be,” he asserted. Raut added that people would break through all barricades to reach the venue, emphasising that the nation desires a change in power and does not want the current government to continue.
He remarked that the strength displayed at Ramlila Maidan today would not belong to any single political party, but would represent the strength of the entire nation. He further added that such national-level events would continue to be held in Delhi, right before the eyes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Meanwhile, responding to a question regarding the business community, Raut aimed at PM Modi and Amit Shah, suggesting that the country’s business owners are not genuinely at ease.

Preparations to ‘re-launch’ Rahul Gandhi yet again – BJP
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken aim at Rahul Gandhi in connection with a rally organised by the INDIA alliance in Delhi. The BJP stated that an attempt is being made to ‘re-launch’ Rahul Gandhi once again. In Jalandhar, Punjab, BJP spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill launched a sharp attack on the INDIA alliance rally. He further remarked that this Congress rally at Ramlila Maidan is, in reality, ‘Rahul Re-launch Attempt 101.’
Shergill described the event as yet another expensive PR exercise held on a Sunday, no less, designed to keep Rahul Gandhi occupied during his vacation. Meanwhile, the BJP spokesperson questioned Rahul Gandhi regarding his allegations of ‘vote theft.’ He further asked: if votes were indeed stolen, how did Rahul Gandhi manage to win from two Lok Sabha constituencies, and how did his sister win the Wayanad seat, a seat that became vacant following his own resignation?
