New Delhi: Preparations for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections have already begun, with all political parties putting in their utmost effort. Even before the official commencement of the 2027 Assembly election process, various agencies are conducting surveys. In this context, BSP supremo and former UP Chief Minister Mayawati has expressed her displeasure regarding a recent survey.

She has dismissed the survey as false and a mere distraction. Furthermore, Mayawati took to her social media handles to caution her party workers and supporters. She recalled that a similar atmosphere was created prior to the 2007 elections; yet, despite that, the BSP went on to form a government with an absolute majority.

Mayawati expresses displeasure with survey agencies for sidelining the BSP.

BSP supremo Mayawati has voiced her dissatisfaction with survey agencies concerning the UP elections. In a post on social media, she warned that as the party engages in intensive ground-level preparations, including the selection of strong, capable candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Punjab, certain casteist media and social media outlets have begun a calculated campaign. She alleged that, through the misuse of money power, they are propagating false and distracting surveys—a move that specifically targets the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and is deeply regrettable and unfortunate.

Reference to the 2007 victory

Taking aim via social media, the BSP supremo stated that the media consistently engages in spreading false propaganda against the BSP during elections through “sponsored” surveys. She noted that their behaviour was identical back in 2007, yet the BSP defied all such speculations to secure an absolute majority and form the government. Meanwhile, in UP, a new constitutional welfare characterising the ‘rule of law’ and the principle of ‘the well-being and happiness of all ‘ was ushered in.

Mayawati cautions party workers.

Former Chief Minister Mayawati, while cautioning her supporters, stated: “Given that the people of UP across all sections of society, and especially the Bahujan community, have suffered under the previous SP regime and the current BJP rule, I urge them to remain vigilant against the opposition parties and casteist elements. Be wary of all their tactics, including the use of inducements, coercion, and various forms of manipulation, as well as the false propaganda they spread. Continue to work with full dedication and heart to ensure the formation of a BSP government for the fifth time; therein lies the true interest and security of all.
