After leaving the IAS, Divya Mittal announced her entry into politics
Divya Mittal, a 2013 batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, has announced her entry into politics after leaving the administrative service. She said that she wants to work directly with the people and will try to understand their issues and raise them.
Divya Mittal also clarified that at present she will not join any political party. She says that instead of party politics, she wants to work with the people on their issues and problems.
Her announcement comes nearly a month after he resigned from the IAS. On 30 August 2026, he announced his voluntary resignation after 13 years of administrative service.
She said, “I will do politics with the people, not with any party.”

Divya Mittal gained significant recognition for her initiative to provide drinking water to Lahuriyadah village while serving as the District Magistrate of Mirzapur. In this village located in the hilly area, water was provided to the people through tankers for a long time.
After water was supplied through pipeline, this initiative was counted among the major works of his administrative tenure. After this, she also took charge as District Magistrate in Deoria.
