New Delhi: Weather conditions across most parts of the country have deteriorated significantly, leading to a worsening situation. Although the monsoon withdrawal process has begun, rainfall continues to make its presence felt. A drop in temperature is being recorded in the hilly regions of North India due to rain; conversely, while rainfall in the plains is light, temperatures have risen, causing discomfort to residents.
The threat of rain looms over several states due to a low-pressure system forming over the Bay of Bengal. Weather conditions in Uttar Pradesh may deteriorate again, with a likelihood of rainfall. Rain Alert for Delhi-NCR
According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon withdrew two days earlier than usual. Consequently, heat is once again troubling residents in Delhi. The weather in Delhi-NCR is expected to remain mainly clear today, with no likelihood of rain.
Maximum temperatures are expected to range between 33°C and 35°C, while minimum temperatures are likely to hover between 23°C and 25°C. Winds blowing from the southeast at speeds of up to 15 km/h are expected during the morning hours.
Heat to Pose Challenges in Rajasthan
According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon has withdrawn from all areas of Rajasthan. A rise in temperature is being recorded, particularly in border regions. In the last 24 hours, a maximum temperature of 41.5°C was recorded in Jaisalmer. The monsoon has begun to withdraw from several parts of the state.
Conditions are favourable for the monsoon to withdraw from additional parts of the state in the coming days. The weather is expected to remain generally dry across the state this week, though light to moderate rainfall is likely in some areas.
Weather Department Alert for UP
The Meteorological Department has forecast mixed weather conditions for Uttar Pradesh tomorrow. While the weather is expected to remain dry in the districts of Eastern UP tomorrow, there is a forecast of very heavy rainfall on September 25–26. The IMD expects dry weather in Western Uttar Pradesh, followed by a likelihood of heavy rain between September 25 and 27.
Heavy Rainfall Expected in Bihar
According to the Meteorological Department, widespread rainfall is expected in Bihar, with rain likely at several locations across the state. Additionally, an alert for very heavy rainfall has been issued for isolated areas in Bihar, as well as in the Gangetic plains of West Bengal and Jharkhand. An alert has been issued for the state in view of the anticipated heavy rainfall.
Heavy Rain Likely in Odisha
The IMD predicts heavy rainfall in the southern and coastal regions of Odisha on Wednesday as a deep depression approaches the coast. Alerts have been issued for light to moderate rain in most parts of southern Odisha, heavy to very heavy rain in some areas, and extremely heavy rain in isolated pockets. Heavy rainfall is also expected in scattered parts of the state on Friday and Saturday; the Meteorological Department has issued a ‘Red Alert’ for rain.
Rainfall Forecast for Kerala
The Meteorological Department has issued a rainfall alert for Kerala due to a deep depression formed over the Bay of Bengal. The IMD expects an intensification of the Southwest Monsoon over Kerala, leading to rainfall alerts for the coming days.
Rainfall accompanied by strong winds reaching speeds of 30–40 kmph is likely. Rain is expected to continue on Friday, and a ‘Yellow Alert’ has been issued for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod.
