According to reports, the Central Government is planning to bring major changes to the country’s rural employment system. The Indian Government has brought the change by replacing the MGNREGA Scheme with the New VB-G RAM G Scheme. That would be a very positive and essential change that the rural system needed from a very long time. From 1st of July 2026, the government has replaced the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act with the VG-RAM-G Scheme. On this, the government has said that the new VB-G RAM G scheme will be much more beneficial in order to provide the right employment opportunities to the rural areas. This particular scheme also aims to provide more transparency and efficiency to support much faster growth in the villages of India. The Ministry of Rural Development has informed a parliamentary committee that 25 states have already shared their funds for this Particular scheme, which aims to bring about essential changes in rural development. The government has already said that the preparation has been done for the scheme and the scheme has already been implemented since 1st of July 2026. The full name of the Scheme is “Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Gramin)”. This scheme is also known as the VB-G RAM G Scheme.

Employment for 125 days
Through this scheme of VB-G RAM G, the duration for the employment has increased, where first the rural people used to get employment only for 100 days. With this new initiative started by the central government, the rural people will be gettinhg the employments for 125 days. Previously, the MGNREGA Scheme used to employ rural people for 100 days a year. But with this New scheme, people will be able to get employment for 25 more days. The government has taken the step to improve the lives of poor families in the villages. Where the scheme aims to employ people for more days so that poor families can earn more money to provide nourishment to their families. Through this scheme, rural workers will get more work and wages, so that they will be able to improve their financial stability. This good change can bring a literal positive impact to the lives of the poor in Indian villages. This will act as a provider when there are fewer opportunities to earn in the villages.
