Palak Paneer is a very famous and nutritious vegetable in Uttar Pradesh, India. Besides being very tasty, it is also very beneficial for health because spinach is rich in iron, calcium, and vitamins. Paneer also contains a lot of protein. It can be served with roti, naan, paratha, or rice.

Ingredients

  • Spinach (500 grams)
  • Paneer (250 grams)
  • Onion (1 chopped)
  • Tomato (2 chopped)
  • Green pepper (2)
  • Ginger (1)
  • Garlic (1 small spoon)
  • Turmeric powder (1/4 small spoon)
  • Red pepper (1/2 small spoon)
  • Coriander powder (1 small spoon)
  • Garam masala (1/2 small spoon)
  • Fresh cream (2 large spoons)
  • Oil or ghee (2 large spoons)
  • Salt (to taste)

How to make Palak Paneer

First, wash the Palak Paneer thoroughly so that it is Remove any dirt from it. Then boil water in a large vessel, add spinach and boil for 2 to 3 minutes. After this, immediately put the spinach in cold water. This will give the spinach a green color. Now, drain the water from the spinach and make a fine paste by adding green chilies and a little water in a mixer.

Now cut the paneer into square pieces. If you want, you can fry the paneer with a slight tail until it turns golden, but paneer without tail also tastes tasty. Now heat oil or ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds and let it crackle. Then add finely chopped onion and fry until it turns golden.

After this, add ginger and garlic paste and cook till it becomes fragrant. Now add chopped tomatoes and cook till it becomes soft. When the tomatoes become soft, add turmeric, red chilli powder and coriander powder and fry the spices well.

When the spices start crackling, add the prepared spinach paste in the pan and cook on low flame for 5 to 7 minutes. Keep stirring in between so that the spinach does not stick to the bottom. Now add salt as per taste and mix well.

After this, add the paneer pieces in the palak gravy and mix them slowly so that the paneer does not break. Let it cook for 3 to 4 minutes so that the taste of the spices comes well in the paneer. Finally, add garam masala and cream, mix it and turn off the gas.

Now the hot paneer palak is ready, garnish it with some butter or cream. Now eat palak paneer with tandoori roti, phulka, naam or zeera rice.
