New Delhi: Monsoon activity is rapidly intensifying across most parts of the country. While Delhi-NCR and Western UP are still eagerly awaiting monsoon clouds, some areas of UP experienced early morning rainfall, bringing relief from the scorching heat.
Rainfall is occurring across most parts of South India, leading to a drop in temperatures. Heavy monsoon rains are lashing the Northeastern states, with no immediate respite in sight. However, the coming days may prove challenging for various regions, as rainfall warnings have been issued for several states. Details regarding the weather forecast are provided below.

Monsoon to Advance Soon
According to the Meteorological Department, the Southwest Monsoon is advancing rapidly. Over the next two days, rainfall is expected in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and several areas of UP. Rain is also anticipated in parts of Punjab and Rajasthan. In Delhi-NCR, the temperature dropped following rainfall on Thursday morning.
Rainfall Expected in These States
The IMD has issued heavy rainfall warnings for July 2 (today) for several regions, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Uttarakhand. Heavy rain is also expected in the Northeastern states. The IMD indicated that rainfall could occur across a stretch extending from Punjab to North Bengal. Additionally, a weather trough extends from South Gujarat to Karnataka.
The Meteorological Department has forecast torrential rain for South Gujarat, Konkan, and Goa. Warnings for extremely heavy rainfall have also been issued for several locations in coastal Karnataka. According to the IMD, heavy rain is likely in Maharashtra, particularly in the Ghat regions and across parts of Mumbai; a ‘Red Alert’ for heavy rainfall has been issued for these areas.

When Will the Monsoon Arrive in Delhi?
Everyone is wondering when the monsoon will reach Delhi. Meanwhile, rainfall warnings have been issued for most parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh. The IMD has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in Western UP on July 2. According to the IMD, a rain alert has been issued for Delhi, covering the period from morning until late evening. The Meteorological Department indicates that the monsoon could arrive in Delhi by July 4.
Rain Expected Here Too
The IMD has issued a heavy rainfall warning for several locations across Madhya Pradesh (MP), Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh. Heavy rain is anticipated in various parts of Eastern and Western MP, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh on July 2. Additionally, an alert for heavy rainfall has been issued for Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand for Thursday.
