New Delhi: With only a few months remaining until the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, all political parties are busy with preparations. The ruling BJP aims to make a significant impact in the UP polls by leveraging its public welfare schemes. As part of this strategy, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government is also focusing on the constituencies of the Bundelkhand region.

To accelerate development in Bundelkhand, the Yogi government has announced the provision of free motorised e-tricycles to female students with disabilities. This initiative will greatly ease their daily commute, allowing them to travel to their destinations with comfort and convenience. It will give new wings to the aspirations of these differently-abled students, proving to be a unique and invaluable gift of education and self-reliance for the female students of Banda.

A Unique Gift from the Yogi Government

This move by the Yogi government will serve as a unique and invaluable gift of education and self-reliance for the district’s female students with disabilities. The UP government is set to distribute free motorised e-tricycles to help these students overcome commuting difficulties while travelling to schools, colleges, and technical training centres. The district comprises several assembly constituencies, including Sadar, Tindwari, Baberu, and Naraini.

Motorised e-tricycles will be provided to 20 female students with disabilities from each assembly constituency who attend schools, colleges, or technical training centres. The department has already initiated the application process. Receiving these motorised e-tricycles will accelerate the ability of these differently-abled young women to commute and pursue their dreams; neither a lack of transport nor physical disability will stand in their way.

Beneficiary Families

Under this scheme, implemented by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, priority is being given to female students with disabilities aged 16 and above who belong to families living below the poverty line.

Additionally, it is mandatory for the student to be regularly enrolled in a recognised school, college, or vocational training institute. Moreover, this initiative will provide significant support to meritorious daughters from poor and backward families who wish to pursue their education despite facing adverse circumstances.

How to Apply

The application process is entirely online. To apply, you need to visit the official website of the Uttar Pradesh Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. Essential documents for the application include a disability certificate (issued by the Chief Medical Officer) or a UDID card, income and caste certificates, an Aadhaar card, and proof of enrollment in a school or college.

Additionally, for further information or assistance, you may visit the office of the District Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Officer located at Vikas Bhawan. Following this, your documents will be verified, and you will receive the benefits.
