Hardik Pandya

New Delhi: Hardik Pandya has endured a rough patch over the last few seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Despite serving as the captain of the Mumbai Indians, he has faced criticism from cricket fans and scrutiny from some senior players. Pandya, who previously demonstrated excellent leadership while captaining Gujarat, has failed to make a significant impact for the Mumbai Indians over three seasons.

There is now talk that Mumbai Indians might be prepared to part ways with Hardik Pandya ahead of the 2027 IPL season. However, before he is released, there is a strong possibility of him being traded to another team, with rumours circulating about interest from five franchises, including Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders.

Hardik Pandya Could Be Traded

Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya could be traded ahead of the next IPL season, with five teams potentially looking to make a big move for him. According to a Cricbuzz report, while Chennai Super Kings’ immediate priority is filling their head coach position, they may subsequently consider trading for Pandya or another player. Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Rajasthan Royals have also shown interest in him.

Assessing the Potential Suitors

Delhi Capitals could also look to bring Hardik Pandya into their squad. They might show interest in him and could potentially trade Axar Patel to Mumbai Indians in exchange. Mumbai’s spin bowling attack has not been particularly strong in recent years, and Axar Patel’s arrival could resolve that issue. Delhi, on the other hand, currently lacks strong leadership.

Lucknow Super Giants Could Also Make a Move

Lucknow Super Giants might also consider placing a bet on Hardik Pandya. Although they have a world-class all-rounder in Mitchell Marsh, he rarely bowls in the IPL. There is also a possibility that Nicholas Pooran could be included in this potential trade involving LSG. Nicholas Pooran could join the Mumbai Indians in exchange for Hardik.

Chennai Super Kings could make a surprise move.

Chennai Super Kings, a team that has performed brilliantly in the IPL, is now on the lookout for quality players. Team CEO Kasi Viswanathan states that their primary objective is to appoint a head coach to fill the vacancy left by Stephen Fleming’s departure. However, there has been speculation that CSK might have to part ways with two players in exchange for Hardik; the names of Shivam Dube, Ayush Mhatre, and Dewald Brevis have surfaced in this context.
