New Delhi: Amidst the volatility of global crude oil prices, a downward trend is currently being observed. However, Indian petroleum companies have not made any changes to petrol and diesel prices. With fuel prices already skyrocketing in the domestic market, consumers are facing a significant strain on their budgets. Petrol prices have crossed the ₹100 mark, and diesel is also selling close to that level. Nevertheless, if you are planning a road trip during the monsoon season, checking city-wise fuel prices beforehand can help clear up any confusion. Here are the current petrol and diesel prices for various cities.

Will petrol and diesel prices come down?
The biggest question is why petrol and diesel prices in India are not dropping despite the global decline in crude oil costs. According to a report, there appears to be very little likelihood of a drop in crude oil prices in the near future. The primary reason for this is that, due to the conflict between the US and Iran a few months ago, oil companies had kept domestic retail prices largely in check. This resulted in significant financial losses for the companies. Now, as they seek to recover those losses, the chances of a reduction in petrol and diesel prices appear very slim. It is worth noting that Indian petroleum companies release petrol and diesel prices daily at 6 AM. These prices are revised every day based on global market trends and state-levied taxes.
