America Vs Iran

New Delhi: West Asia is once again engulfed in the flames of war, and the situation remains dire. The US has wreaked havoc in Iran, repeatedly targeting military installations. In retaliation, the Iranian military is also launching major counterattacks. The door to reconciliation between the two nations appears firmly shut. The US launched strikes targeting Iran’s coastal defence systems and missile sites.

This attack followed the reimposition of a naval blockade on Iranian ports. In response, Iran announced further restrictions on regional energy flows. Iran stated that it is engaged in an existential battle with the US. There was a time when it seemed relations might improve, but tensions resurfaced after no agreement could be reached on peace proposals.

Claim of Neutralising an Iranian Tanker

The US military has been targeting Iranian military installations and assets. Meanwhile, the US military reported that it disabled an oil tanker heading toward Iran’s Kharg Island with a missile strike after the vessel failed to heed repeated warnings to stop.

Following the attacks, Iran’s Mehr News Agency reported strikes on four areas of the city of Ahvaz and on Bandar Abbas. There have been no immediate reports of casualties.

Separately, Iran’s state broadcaster, IRIB, claimed that an attack occurred near a hospital in Ahvaz that treats children with cancer, forcing an evacuation of the facility. Iran’s top negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, stated that Iran’s security depends on maintaining its operations in the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump: Iran Seeks a Deal

US President Donald Trump claimed that Iran is under pressure to reach an agreement. He noted that Iran had signalled goodwill by releasing an American citizen who had been held in custody since 2024. Ongoing attacks in the region have raised concerns regarding the Strait of Hormuz and global energy supplies.

Irais n is also launching fierce attacks.

Angered by the US attacks, Iran has intensified its own operations. Iran launched heavy attacks on US military bases in Kuwait and Jordan, claiming to have inflicted significant damage. Meanwhile, missile alerts have been issued in Bahrain and Kuwait. Jordan also stated that it had intercepted missiles entering its airspace.

Shipping companies are also avoiding the US military-monitored route

Amidst the fierce conflict between the two nations, security in the Strait of Hormuz has become a critical issue. Due to safety concerns, many shipping companies are refraining from using the transit route monitored by the US military. According to reports, vessels are now utilising alternative routes located near the coasts of Iran and Oman.
