The monsoon appears to be in an aggressive phase, leading to a grim situation. Far from subsiding, the monsoon rains are expected to bring even more trouble over the next 72 hours.
Rain has disrupted the pace of life in regions stretching from Uttar Pradesh to South India. It has also made life difficult for residents in the northeastern states. Heavy Rain Warning for These States
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain is likely in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and the hilly states. Alerts for heavy downpours accompanied by thunder and lightning have been issued for Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, and Gujarat. Wind speeds in several areas of these regions are expected to reach 70 to 75 km/h.
Consequently, there is a risk of falling trees, disruptions to the power supply, and localized damage. The hilly states also face a threat of landslides. Rain is also forecast for Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh.
Likelihood of Heavy Rain in Delhi-NCR
The IMD has predicted a significant change in weather conditions in Delhi and the NCR between September 9 and 11, forecasting rain and strong winds. Wind speeds could reach approximately 30 to 40 km/h during this period. Additionally, scattered thunderstorms and rain are expected to bring some relief from the heat.
On September 9, the maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to be around 36°C, with a minimum of approximately 26°C. Residents of the NCR are advised to exercise caution in open areas and near weak trees.
Rain Alert for UP
According to the IMD, heavy rainfall is expected in various parts of Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department predicts heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in Meerut, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Aligarh, Agra, Mathura, Kanpur, and Bahraich. Additionally, an alert for heavy rainfall has been issued for Balrampur, Ambedkar Nagar, Varanasi, Chandauli, and Sonbhadra.
The IMD has also issued a warning for heavy rain in several districts, including Mirzapur, Shahjahanpur, Rampur, Unnao, Prayagraj, Deoria, and Gorakhpur. Wind speeds in these areas are expected to reach 70 to 80 km/h. In Lucknow, the maximum temperature is likely to be around 33°C, with a minimum of 26°C.
Rain with Thunderstorms Likely in Bihar
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is expected in several districts of Bihar on September 9. The IMD has issued a heavy rain alert for Gaya, Patna, West Champaran, East Champaran, Siwan, Rohtas, Aurangabad, and Buxar.
An alert for torrential rain has been issued for Saran, Bhojpur, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Purnia, Kishanganj, Katihar, Araria, Begusarai, and Bhagalpur. Along with this, wind speeds are expected to reach 60 to 70 km/h.
