Saubhagyavati Yojana
Saubhagyavati Yojana is a scheme run by the Uttarakhand government for women and their newborns. Under this scheme, kits related to cleanliness of newborns and nutrition of pregnant women are given to pregnant women. This scheme helps in providing good health, nutrition and care to pregnant women and their newborns.
What is Saubhagyavati Yojana?
This scheme has been started by the Uttarakhand government in which pregnant women are provided with a kit of their nutrition related items and a kit for cleaning along with their newborn baby. Women above 18 years of age can avail the benefits of this scheme for which a budget of Rs 8.34 crore has been kept by the government.
Purpose of Saubhagyavati Yojana
The purpose of this scheme is to fulfill the basic needs of pregnant women and their newborns, from their nutrition and cleanliness, so that both mother and child remain healthy and they do not have to face health related problems. For this, kits are provided by the government for pregnant women, new mothers and newborns. Application for this scheme can be made by visiting its official website wecd.uk.gov.in.

The kit given to the women under this scheme includes 250 grams of kernels, dried apricots, walnuts, 500 grams of dates, a large towel, a cotton scarf, a warm blanket, two pairs of cotton gowns, two pairs of bed sheets, two cup nail cutters, two washing soaps, two bathing soaps, two large sanitary packets, 200 ml liquid hand wash and 200 ml sesame or mustard oil.
The kit given to the Newborn baby under in this scheme include one packet of diapers, one baby oil, one towel, one baby powder and three baby soaps, one rubber sheet, two pairs of baby clothes, cap and socks, two baby blankets, one cotton bag to pack all the stuff.
