Sai Pallavi and Naga Chaitanya are ready for the release of their Telugu film ‘Thandell’. During the pre-release event, Sandeep Reddy Vanga revealed that he wanted to cast Sai Pallavi alongside Vijay Deverakonda in ‘Arjun Reddy’, but she couldn’t be a part of the film.

Meanwhile, famous filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga made a new revelation about Sai Pallavi, who will be playing the role of Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayan’. Recently, at the pre-release event of the film in Hyderabad, Sandeep Vanga, who was a special guest, shared that he had originally considered casting Sai Pallavi in the lead role alongside Vijay Deverakonda in the 2017 hit film ‘Arjun Reddy’.
Why Sandeep Reddy couldn’t cast Sai Pallavi
Sandeep Reddy Vanga has now revealed, after years, why he couldn’t cast actress Sai Pallavi in the film. He shared that a coordinator from Kerala told him that Sai would not work in his movie. Sandeep explained, “I spoke to them and said I have a story about a guy who gets ruined by love. It’s also a very romantic story, and I wanted to cast Sai Pallavi as the lead actress.” He continued, “I was told, ‘What’s romantic in Arjun Reddy?’ I replied, ‘This film is far better than the typical films we see in Telugu cinema.’” The response was, “Sir, forget it. That girl won’t even wear sleeveless clothes. Forget about it.”
Sandeep Reddy praises Sai Pallavi
Sandeep praised Sai Pallavi, saying that she hasn’t changed at all. He mentioned, “Over time, stars tend to change as they get better opportunities, but I haven’t seen Sai Pallavi change. That’s really a great thing.” Eventually, Shalini Pandey was chosen as the lead actress for ‘Arjun Reddy’. The film also featured Rahul Ramakrishna, Jiya Sharma, Sanjay Swaroop, Gopinath Bhatt, Kamal Kamaraju, and Kanchan. ‘Arjun Reddy’ was a huge success at the box office, earning 51 crores worldwide. The film was later remade in Hindi as ‘Kabir Singh’ (2019), starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in the lead roles.
