Samsung Unveils One UI 8
Based on Android 16, Samsung is preparing to roll out One UI 8, its next major software update. Following the recent launch of One UI 7, this update brings new features and improvements for Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Reports suggest that the stable rollout is expected to begin in September 2025.
Samsung is also running a beta program for several Galaxy devices, including phones, foldables, and mid-range models, allowing users to test One UI 8 before the official release.

Release Date and Beta Program
- One UI 8 was first showcased at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, 2025, based on Android 16.
- The Galaxy S25 series is expected to receive the stable update on September 18, 2025.
- Other devices, including the Galaxy S25 Edge, Galaxy S24 series, Z Flip6, and Z Fold6, are expected to follow on September 25.
Samsung’s beta program began on May 28, 2025, starting with the Galaxy S25 series in Germany, Korea, the US, and the UK. It later expanded to Poland, India, and other Galaxy models, including the S24 and S23 series, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, and selected A-series devices. Users can sign up for the beta via the Samsung Members app.

The One UI 8 upgrade will cover:
- Flagship phones: Galaxy S25, S24 series, Z Fold6, Z Flip6, Z Fold5, Z Flip5
- A-series phones: A36 5G, A55 5G, A35 5G, A54
- New foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7, and Z Flip7 FE, as well as the Galaxy S25 FE, will come with One UI 8 preinstalled.
The beta program continues alongside September 2025 security updates to ensure stability. According to leaked schedules, other devices, such as the Galaxy Watch series, A53/A34 series, and Galaxy Tab S9/S8, may receive the update in October and November. The confirmed September rollout mainly targets Asian markets.
One UI 8 is one of the most significant updates for Samsung Galaxy devices this year, promising enhanced functionality, smoother performance, and improved support for foldables.
