New Delhi: Dissatisfaction persists among students who took to the streets to protest against the NEET paper leak. While the Central Government had accepted Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation [in the context of the issue], the agreement included promises to provide compensation to the families of students who died by suicide and to withdraw the cases registered against the protesters.
Now, the CJP has reported that police are continuing to harass protesting students in Rajasthan. The party claimed that despite the agreement to withdraw cases, police personnel are still visiting students’ homes and threatening them after summoning them via phone calls. The CJP warned that if this harassment does not cease, the agitation will be resumed.
Central Government Must Make the Written Agreement Public – CJP
Ashutosh Ranka, spokesperson for the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), made a significant statement via a video. He stated that the police are targeting members of the organisation’s core team in Rajasthan. Police are visiting the homes of some team members and harassing them through phone calls.
“We want the Central Government to make the written agreement public immediately. The Central Government must honour the agreement reached on July 25,” Ranka said. He appealed to both the Central and Rajasthan governments to respect the agreement made between the CJP and the government on July 25 regarding the withdrawal of cases against protesting students. He noted that governments in other states have already taken action based on similar assurances.
Police Must Stop Targeting Students
CJP leader Ranka stated that the Bihar government has withdrawn cases registered against students, and steps have been taken to withdraw all FIRs in West Bengal as well. He asserted that the Central and state governments must completely stop targeting students and must honour the July 25 agreement. The CJP warned that if the agreement is not honoured, the organisation would be compelled to launch protests again.

It is worth noting that protests against the NEET paper leak took place in several cities across the country, including at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. A major protest was also held in Jaipur regarding this issue. Many students travelled to Jantar Mantar in New Delhi to participate in the demonstrations, while protests and sit-ins were also organised in Jaipur and other cities.
The ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ in Delhi staged a protest that lasted for over a month. During this period, educationist and social activist Sonam Wangchuk observed a hunger strike for 26 days. The students demanded, first and foremost, the resignation of the Union Education Minister. The government accepted their demands on the 36th day, and the CJP announced the end of the protest subject to certain conditions.
