Prosus invests ₹3,000 crore in Rapido
Dutch investment firm Prosus has increased its planned investment in Rapido, a Bengaluru-based ride-hailing company. Confident in the company’s growth potential, Prosus is expected to invest $350 million (Rs 3,000–3,100 crore) in the ride-hailing service, according to Moneycontrol.
Prosus, which has previously invested in Rapido, is expected to purchase Rapido shares worth $223 million (Rs 1,968 crore) following Swiggy’s complete exit. As Swiggy’s largest investor, Prosus views the exit as a strategic move to avoid conflicts of interest.

Additionally, Prosus will contribute $125 million in new funding to support Rapido’s operational expansion. After Swiggy’s departure, Rapido is now valued at $2.3 billion (Rs 20,042 crore).
Accel is reportedly in talks to use the growth fund for investing in Swiggy.
Earlier, Swiggy stated in a filing that its Board of Directors had proposed selling 35,958 Series D Compulsorily Convertible Preference Shares (CCPS) it owned in Roppen Transportation Services Private Limited (Rapido) to Setu AIF Trust during their September 23, 2025 meeting.
The board also approved the sale of 1,63,990 Series D CCPS and 10 equity shares in Rapido to MIH Investments One B.V., a Dutch company.

Currently holding 6–6.5% of Rapido, Prosus is expected to raise its stake to roughly 15% in the ongoing investment round. This will make it one of the largest shareholders, second only to Westbridge, which is expected to acquire about 25% in the coming weeks.
Earlier, Rapido had entered the food delivery sector with the launch of Ownly, a standalone app currently operational in select areas such as BTM Layout, HSR, and Koramangala.
