New Delhi: The issue of theft of offerings at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is escalating, leading to a confrontation between the government and the opposition. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) is investigating the matter, and a report is expected to be submitted soon. So far, eight individuals have been arrested in connection with the case.
Meanwhile, Nripendra Misra, Chairman of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, has issued a significant statement regarding the incident. He described the incident as a “stain,” noting that Lord Ram Lalla has been enshrined in His grand temple after a long-drawn-out Ram Mandir movement; under these circumstances, an incident of theft is deeply unfortunate. He added that such an event makes everyone feel diminished.

Trust Takes the Matter Seriously
Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Chairman Nripendra Misra condemned the theft of offerings. He assured that necessary administrative improvements would be carried out to prevent such incidents from happening again.
He reiterated that the faith of devotees is of utmost importance and upholding it is the Trust’s primary responsibility. A high-level committee has been formed to appoint a CEO for the Ram Mandir, and this committee will consider suitable candidates. The Teerth Trust will then make the final decision. Misra stated that the administration would take all necessary steps to ensure the temple’s dignity and transparency.

Major Changes Set for After July 22
It is worth noting that the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is preparing to implement significant changes regarding the management of the Ram Mandir after July 22. These proposed changes encompass the darshan (viewing) process, worship rituals, management of offerings (Raag-Bhog-Chadhava), security and crowd control, as well as improvements to facilities for devotees.
Additionally, the Trust is seeking suggestions from saints and scholars of the Ramanandi tradition to ensure the new arrangements are more transparent, organised, and devotee-friendly. Champat Rai and Anil Mishra have resigned from the Trust, and decisions regarding filling these vacancies are expected soon.
