This incident took place in Nayabeshwar area of Kathmandu, Nepal, where teachers wanted to enter the restricted area of Beneshwar area, during which the police lathi charged them.
Why are teachers protesting?

Nepal Teachers Protest have been protesting continuously for a long time demanding improvements in school education and salary hike and allowances. They want to get the School Education Bill passed through this protest. Due to this protest, Nepal’s Education, Science and Technology Minister Vidya Bhatt Rai had to resign last week, where Raghuji Panta has been appointed in his place.
