Rain Alert

New Delhi: The monsoon has been quite generous these days. While the rain has brought relief to some areas, it has caused trouble in others, with some regions suffering significant damage due to heavy downpours. In Delhi-NCR, the monsoon rains have made the weather quite pleasant. The rainfall has also led to a significant improvement in the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi and its surrounding areas.

If you are a resident of Delhi-NCR, do not forget to carry a raincoat or an umbrella over the next few hours; otherwise, you might get drenched and face inconvenience. The Meteorological Department has issued a rainfall warning for the region. You can find detailed information below regarding the expected weather conditions in various areas.

Weather forecast for Delhi today

According to the Meteorological Department, the capital will see intermittent cloud cover throughout the day. Significant rainfall is likely in areas adjacent to Delhi. The IMD has issued a heavy rain alert for several locations in Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram as the day progresses.

The maximum temperature in Delhi-NCR is expected to hover around 36°C, with a minimum of 28°C. The rain is also expected to bring some relief from the humidity. The IMD predicts that strong winds may accompany the rainfall, and there is a possibility of lightning strikes. Therefore, staying indoors during the inclement weather is advisable.

Weather forecast for Noida

The IMD predicts a significant shift in weather conditions for Noida and Greater Noida. Heavy rain and wind speeds of approximately 60 km/h are expected in the coming hours, which will make the weather in these areas quite pleasant.

Additionally, overcast skies are expected in Ghaziabad. Heavy rainfall three days ago had caused waterlogging on the roads in Noida, leading to significant traffic disruptions. People commuting to government and private offices faced difficulties.

Here is the weather update for the rest of the country

According to the IMD, the weather is likely to take a turn in Haryana as well. An alert has been issued for Gurugram, warning of dust storms accompanied by heavy rainfall. Several states in North India are set to receive rain today. Heavy rainfall warnings have been issued for districts including Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, and Meerut, as well as the Uttar Pradesh capital, Lucknow. An alert regarding wind speeds of 60 to 70 km/h has also been issued for these areas.

Heavy rainfall is also occurring in the mountainous regions

The IMD has issued a heavy rainfall warning for areas in Uttarakhand such as Nainital, Chamoli, and Haridwar; an alert for hailstorms has also been issued for these regions. Heavy rain is expected to bring relief from the heat in Punjab’s Patiala, Amritsar, and Jalandhar, with wind speeds likely reaching 65 to 70 km/h.
