Monsoon Alert: Weather To Turn Severe, Heavy Rain Warning Issued For Several States

New Delhi: The monsoon is currently at its peak, bringing heavy rainfall to various regions across the country. From New Delhi to the rest of North India, cloudy skies and scattered rainfall have been observed since this morning. The rain has led to a drop in temperature, providing relief to people from the scorching heat.

Thunderstorms accompanied by rain are occurring in the northeastern states as well. Most parts of South India are experiencing heavy downpours accompanied by thunderstorms. The rains have made daily life difficult for residents. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rainfall warnings have been issued for several states. Heavy Rainfall Warnings for These States

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for widespread rainfall in New Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, and parts of Punjab. People are advised to exercise caution due to the likelihood of lightning strikes in these areas. According to the IMD, a widespread rainfall warning has also been issued for Uttarakhand. Alerts for heavy rain have been issued for Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and other regions.

Monsoon rains are expected in these areas. The situation in Eastern Rajasthan is a cause for concern; an alert for torrential rain has been issued there for August 11. A low-pressure system over central Uttar Pradesh is likely to bring rainfall to the entire region. Heavy to widespread rainfall is predicted for Western Madhya Pradesh.

Rainfall Alerts for Various Regions

The Meteorological Department has issued warnings for heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning strikes in Chhattisgarh. The IMD has issued alerts for heavy to very heavy rainfall in parts of Central India. Additionally, spells of heavy rain are likely in certain areas. Rainfall is also expected in Eastern and Northeastern India.

Rainfall alerts have been issued for Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim. Furthermore, heavy downpours are predicted for the Gangetic plains of West Bengal and Odisha. Along with this, an alert has been issued for thunderstorms and strong winds accompanying the rain.

Heavy rainfall expected here too.

According to the IMD, alerts for thunderstorms and lightning strikes have been issued for Bihar and Jharkhand as well. Rainfall activity is expected to intensify in the coming days. The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain across various parts of the Northeast, specifically in Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh.

Warnings for heavy rainfall have been issued for Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh. Widespread rainfall is expected across West and South India, with the Konkan and Goa regions likely to experience a spell of heavy rain.
