Monsoon Alert: Weather Department Issues Heavy Rainfall Warning for 13 States

New Delhi: Monsoon rains have made life difficult for people across most parts of the country, causing widespread distress. Continuous rainfall is disrupting traffic in many cities and towns. In several areas of the northeastern states, heavy rains have brought the pace of life to a standstill.

Meanwhile, heat levels have risen significantly in Delhi-NCR and western Uttar Pradesh, leaving people sweltering. Residents in these regions are eagerly awaiting rain to provide relief from the intense heat.

Rainfall is expected to increase over the next seven days across East and Northeast India, eastern Uttar Pradesh, and the Western Himalayan region. Rain is also anticipated in various parts of Central India. The Meteorological Department has issued alerts for heavy rainfall in several states.

Heavy Rain Warning for 13 States

The IMD has issued a warning for torrential rain in parts of Odisha on July 15. Alerts for heavy rainfall have also been issued for areas across Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, and eastern Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, the Meteorological Department has issued alerts for heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Meghalaya, and Manipur.

Delhi Weather Update

According to the IMD, the weather in Delhi-NCR is expected to remain generally normal throughout the week. Temperatures are likely to hover around 38°C. Cloud cover, light rain, and strong winds are expected to offer some relief from the scorching heat.

The weather is forecast to remain largely similar on July 15, with a maximum temperature of 38°C and a minimum of 28°C; the sky is expected to be partly cloudy. For July 16, the maximum temperature is predicted to be 38°C, with a minimum of 27°C.

Weather Outlook for UP

The IMD has issued a rainfall warning for several locations in UP between July 15 and July 19. Eastern Uttar Pradesh is likely to experience rainfall from July 15 to July 17, with an alert issued for heavy rain between July 17 and July 19. Rain is also expected in parts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh on July 18 and 19. Light to moderate rainfall is forecast for several districts in Western Uttar Pradesh, including Meerut, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, and Bijnor from July 15 to July 20.

Weather in Bihar

The IMD has issued an alert for widespread rainfall in Bihar from July 15 to July 16. Very heavy rainfall may occur in some places on July 15, and warnings for heavy rain have been issued for several districts between July 16 and July 20.

According to the Meteorological Department’s forecast, rainfall is likely at isolated places across Eastern and Western Rajasthan from July 14 to July 20. While there is no alert for heavy rainfall in the state during this period, normal rainfall is expected in several areas.
