According to the Meteorological Department, a warning for heavy rain has been issued for several states in North and Central India on August 16th. Wind speeds are expected to reach 60 to 70 kilometres per hour in some districts of Uttar Pradesh. Rain is forecast at various places in Bihar, Jharkhand, Delhi, Odisha, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.
In addition, heavy rain is forecast in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana, and Rajasthan. Winds of up to 70 kilometres per hour are expected along with rain in many places. People have been urged to exercise caution due to the possibility of lightning during thunderstorms.
Heavy Rain Expected in These Districts of Uttar Pradesh
The IMD has issued a heavy rain alert in various areas of Uttar Pradesh amid monsoon activity. The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain warning in Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Aligarh, Mathura, and Agra. In addition, heavy rain alerts have been issued in Kanpur, Bijnor, Saharanpur, Shamli, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Etawah, Lakhimpur Kheri, and Auraiya.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a thunderstorm warning along with heavy rain in Jalaun, Hamirpur, Firozabad, Ayodhya, Basti, Bulandshahr, Ghazipur, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, and Deoria. Strong winds with speeds of up to 60 to 70 kilometres per hour are expected during this period.
Thunderstorm Warning in Bihar
The IMD has predicted severe weather and rain in several districts of Bihar on August 16th. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in West Champaran, Siwan, Gopalganj, Saran, East Champaran, Patna, and Gaya. The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert for Bhojpur, Buxar, Vaishali, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Purnia, Kishanganj, Araria, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Khagaria, and Begusarai.
Heavy Rain Expected in Rajasthan
According to the IMD, a warning for heavy rainfall has been issued for several areas on August 16. Strong winds are also likely to accompany the rain. The IMD has issued rainfall warnings for Alwar, Karauli, Baran, Jhalawar, Churu, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Bharatpur, Ajmer, and Bhilwara. Wind speeds of around 40 km/h are anticipated. An alert has also been issued for Jaipur, forecasting a maximum temperature of 33°C and a minimum of 27°C.
