Mercedes-Benz is set to launch the facelifted version of its flagship S-Class sedan in India on June 15, 2026. The updated luxury sedan will receive a refreshed design, premium interior upgrades, and several advanced technology features. One of the biggest highlights is the introduction of a plug-in hybrid powertrain, marking a first for the S-Class in the Indian market. The new model aims to offer improved efficiency along with the comfort and performance the S-Class is known for. Mercedes-Benz is bringing the S 450e Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) variant of the S-Class to India for the first time. The luxury sedan combines premium comfort, advanced technology, and improved efficiency in a single package. It is expected to feature the brand’s latest Superscreen setup, offering a more modern and connected cabin experience. Along with its elegant design and high-end features, the hybrid powertrain will enable cleaner and more efficient driving, including short-distance electric-only operation. With this launch, Mercedes-Benz aims to set new benchmarks in the luxury car segment by blending performance, innovation, and sustainability.

Best Features Coming with the New Mercedes-Benz S-Class

One of the biggest highlights of the 2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class will be its powerful plug-in hybrid powertrain. The upcoming S 450e variant will combine a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 120kW electric motor and a 22kWh battery pack. Together, the system will produce an impressive 449 PS of power and 680 Nm of peak torque. Performance is expected to be equally impressive, with the luxury sedan capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds. Mercedes-Benz also claims that the hybrid model can deliver up to 100 kilometres of electric-only driving range.

Premium Features and Modern Design

The upcoming Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift is expected to feature a more premium and modern design, highlighted by a 20% larger illuminated grille, redesigned headlights, and an illuminated Mercedes logo on the bonnet. Inside, the luxury sedan will get the new Superscreen layout, consisting of a 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, and a separate 12.3-inch screen for the front passenger. Powered by Mercedes’ latest MB.OS software, it will support generative AI and improved voice commands. Other highlights include heated seatbelts, digital air vents, advanced ADAS features, E-Active Body Control, Airmatic suspension, and intelligent damping technology.
