India’s largest automobile company, Maruti Suzuki, is set to increase the prices of its various models by up to 32,500 rupees starting from February 1. The company said on Thursday that this move will help reduce the impact of rising raw material costs to some extent. Maruti Suzuki India informed the stock market, saying, “Due to the increasing cost of raw materials and operational expenses, the company plans to raise car prices from February 1, 2025.”
The price of the Celerio will increase by up to 32,500 rupees. The company said in an exchange filing, “Although we are committed to optimizing costs and minimizing the impact on customers, we are still forced to pass on some of the increased expenses to the market.” Due to this decision, the ex-showroom price of Maruti Suzuki’s compact car Celerio will rise by up to 32,500 rupees, while the premium model Invicto will see a price hike of up to 30,000 rupees. The price of the company’s most popular model, the Wagon R, will go up by 15,000 rupees, and the Swift will become 5,000 rupees more expensive.
The price of the Alto K-10 will increase by 19,500 rupees. Additionally, the price of the SUV Brezza will go up by 20,000 rupees, and the Grand Vitara will become 25,000 rupees more expensive. The company also mentioned that the entry-level small car, Alto K-10, will see a price rise of up to 19,500 rupees, and the S-Presso will increase by up to 5,000 rupees. The price of the premium compact model Baleno will go up by 9,000 rupees, the compact SUV Fronx will become 5,500 rupees more expensive, and the compact sedan Dzire will rise by 10,000 rupees. The company currently sells cars in various categories, ranging from the entry-level Alto K-10 (starting price of 3.99 lakh rupees) to the Invicto, priced at 28.92 lakh rupees.
