Mahakumbh Stampede 2025: A stampede-like situation occurred during Amrit Snan on the day of Mauni Amavasya in the Mahakumbh fair, due to which more than 30 people were killed and more than 60 people were reported injured, where the injured are undergoing treatment. CM Yogi has announced a compensation of 25 lakhs each to the families of the victims in this accident.
Let us tell you that on the day of Mauni Amavasya, more than 5 crore devotees reached Prayagraj for Amrit Snan, during which a stampede broke out near Sangam Nose on Wednesday night, due to which 30 people were killed and many were injured, apart from this, there was a stampede at one or two more places. After the incident, the police administration started relief and rescue operations and the injured are being treated.
Where did the stampede happen?
This stampede happened near Mahakumbh Stampede 2025, Sangam Nose, where lakhs of devotees who had come to take Amrit bath suddenly started gathering and after the crowd increased, there was a scuffle over each other, due to which some people fell on the ground and started screaming. After this everyone started running.
People say that due to the sudden crowd, a situation of scuffle arose and our family members also started falling on the ground, but due to the crowd we were unable to save them. This happened due to the sudden increase in the crowd, due to which everyone started running to save their lives. This incident happened on Wednesday night at around 2:00 when a stampede occurred and the crowd became uncontrollable and broke the barricade.
CM Yogi appeals to bathe anywhere in the Ganga
After this incident in Mahakumbh Stampede 2025, the police administration has appealed to the devotees that whoever is at whichever ghat, they should bathe there and not try to bathe in Sangam, ghats have been built everywhere for bathing. Let us tell you that the area of Sangam is not very spread out, due to which if all the people suddenly gather there, then it becomes very difficult to handle the crowd, so the police administration has appealed that wherever people have reached, they should bathe in the same ghat.
CM Yogi announced a compensation of 25 lakhs to the deceased
CM Yogi has announced a compensation of 25 lakhs each from the government to the devotees who died in Mahakumbh Stampede 2025. 30 people have died in this accident, out of which 25 people have been identified, the highest number of those who died were from Uttar Pradesh (19) and 4 from Karnataka and 1 each from Gujarat and Assam have been identified, the injured are being treated in the hospital.
